Liverpool can sign Kylian Mbappe but only if he leaves on a free

Kopites have been pleading for one signing for years. The Reds’ fan base has convinced itself (in a tongue in cheek manner) for a few summers that we could land one of the most valuable players in the world. Liverpool can sign Kylian Mbappe but only if he stays at PSG for another year.

Liverpool need a striker

There’s no getting around the fact that the goals have dried up.

The front three have been together for four seasons now and the second stage of the 20/21 season saw a massive drop off.

Opposition sides have figured the lads out and a lack of depth has left them too fatigued to do anything about it.

We are clearly short a lethal finisher in the side, something which needs to be addressed.

Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe

Year after year Kopites get the hashtag out #Mbappe202-.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

The Frenchman has been persistently linked with Anfield because of the number of times he’s spoken of his admiration for the Reds’ style of play.

ESPN are one of a number of outlets to report on Liverpool interest in Mbappe.

Guillem Balague has claimed PSG would want £155m for him this summer whilst Duncan Castles has reported that Anfield would be his preferred destination in England.

Liverpool could land Kylian Mbappe on a free

It’s a long shot but it’s our only shot when it comes to signing the lad.

This summer the Frenchman will enter the final year of his deal in Paris.

If he wants to move away he’ll either force a move this summer or see out his contract.

Mbappe deciding to see out his contract would give Liverpool a major boost in their pursuit.

We can’t afford £155m but we could afford to give him a hefty signing on fee should he leave on a free next summer.
