Liverpool should be in the market for a midfielder over the summer. Jürgen Klopp needs to replace Gini Wijnaldum, surely we learned our lesson with Dejan Lovren this season. According to Kevin Phillips, reported Liverpool target Youri Tielemans will be tempted by a move to Anfield.

Wijnaldum replacement, Lovren lesson
This summer will see the end of Gini Wijnaldum’s five-year stay at Anfield.
The Dutchman’s contract is up and the Reds have been unable to tie him down to a new deal.
The thinking is that the club were unwilling to offer a bumper deal to a player who will turn 31-years-old next season.
Liverpool need to replace Gini Wijnaldum; last year we sold Dejan Lovren without bringing in a successor and the consequences were disastrous, we can’t make the same mistake again.
Phillips on Liverpool target Youri Tielemans
There have been plenty of potential targets touted in recent months.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Youri Tielemans last week with Het Nieuwsblad reporting that he’s on a shortlist of potential Wijnaldum successors.
Kevin Phillips has weighed in on the alleged pursuit, telling Football Insider:
“I think everyone is available for the right price.
“I don’t think Brendan Rodgers would want Tielemans to go but I think when Liverpool come knocking at your door and speak to your agent, then the player is going to listen and is probably going to want to go…
“If Liverpool were to make enquiries and make an offer then it could be one of those where it’s hard to stop the player going and turn the deal down, so it will be an interesting one.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Youri Tielemans would be transformational.
The Belgian is one of the best centre midfielders in the division.
As Phillips’ has pointed out, Leicester not making the top four could be a massive factor if the Reds do pursue a deal.
He is 24-years-old and will be wanting to play regular Champions League football, we can give him that.
