Liverpool have earned a reputation as savvy operators in the transfer market in recent years. The Reds have been buying low and selling high, building a world conquering team. One of our most iconic sales could be set for a Premier League return; Philippe Coutinho has been linked with a move to Everton with Arsenal also allegedly interested.

Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool

Liverpool fans once adored Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian was signed from Inter Milan for £8.5m, he arrived as a 20-year-old with a growing reputation.

After a tricky start to life at Anfield the playmaker eventually established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the world.

In his final full season for the club he netted 13 goals and bagged seven assists.

January 2018 saw Barcelona sign Philippe Coutinho for an enormous £142m.

Philippe Coutinho wanted by Everton

It’s safe to say things didn’t work out for the Brazilian when he joined the Spanish giants.

He failed to live up to his price tag and eventually found himself loaned to Bayern Munich, where he netted against his parent club in a humiliating Champions League tie.

Now the Catalan side are thought to be considering moving him on amid a financial crisis at the club.

According to Sky Sports, Philippe Coutinho is wanted by Everton and Arsenal.

However, the two clubs will allegedly have to wait until July before making a move.

What RTK has to say

Seeing Philippe Coutinho join Everton would be interesting to say the least.

The lad was a Kop hero and he’s still pretty highly thought of given that his sale helped us build our all conquering side (his exit funded moves for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker).

Wherever he ends up we wish him the best, he was a joy to watch and we hope he returns to that form.
