Liverpool have their big chance to sign Florian Neuhaus this summer, according to reports. The Reds won’t get a better opportunity.

Abdendzeitung claims Florian Neuhaus won’t be joining Bayern Munich this summer. That could be significant for Liverpool. In fact, the Reds find themselves involved in this regardless.

Neuhaus doesn’t want to leave Borussia Monchengladbach this summer, or at least, he won’t push to. He does have a £34m release clause but Bayern can’t quite afford it.

And seeing as Neuhaus isn’t desperate to leave, they’re willing to wait. They have a replacement option in mind, too – Gini Wijnaldum. They will look to bring in the Liverpool midfielder once his contract expires.

This means Neuhaus is there for the taking this summer. After all, Bayern are the biggest threat to anyone wanting his signature – that’s just the nature of German football.

Kicker have claimed in the past that Liverpool will look at Neuhaus this summer. Bild have, too. Well, here’s their big chance.

Florian Neuhaus to move this summer?

We’ve said before that Neuhaus could be incredible value this summer. He’s still young, having just turned 24 in March. The midfielder also has plenty of experience to lean into – and for Liverpool to work with.

And, of course, there’s a need to replace Wijnaldum over the summer. Neuhaus could do just that, while also injecting some more youth into the squad.

At the same age as Diogo Jota, too, Liverpool could have two very talented players at the same stage of their careers. Both would be ideally placed to take over from the current stars in a year or two.

If Bayern truly want to risk waiting, then that release clause is tempting. Liverpool might need to convince Neuhaus to leave Gladbach but we’d back them to do that.

It’s a shame Wijnaldum seems destined to leave but it appears he might open the door a little wider for Neuhaus. And that would be a wonderful silver lining.
