One-time Liverpool and Everton target Gleison Bremer is on the market, according to reports. The Merseyside rivals could each have the opportunity to sign him.
This comes from Torino Granata of the TuttoMercatoWeb network. They claim Gleison Bremer is a possible sale this summer. It comes after interest within the past 12 months from both Liverpool and Everton.
Bremer is a 24-year-old Brazilian centre-back with two full seasons of Serie A experience. He’s something of a defensive rock, too, ranking 11th in Italy for interceptions and 5th for clearances.
He doesn’t let much past him, in other words. And as Torino reshuffle this season, the chance is there to sign Bremer – something both Liverpool and Everton will like to hear.
Bremer to Liverpool or Everton?
We’re not sure how likely it is that Everton still want Bremer. Potentially very – we’re just not tied into their plans this summer.
As for Liverpool, it’s complicated. First and foremost, they almost certainly want to sign a centre-back.
They have the option to sign Ozan Kabak permanently, of course. There are also strong links to Ibrahima Konate. Either would be a relatively pricey signing that invests in Liverpool’s long-term future at centre-back.
Bremer, at 24, isn’t as young as those two. He’s also not as experienced, though, as both Kabak and Konate have played multiple seasons in top European leagues.

We can only see this one happening, then, if Bremer is very cheap. Then Liverpool might fancy him as a fourth-choice option for next season. We’re talking under £10m, though.
But the problem with that is Nat Phillips. He’s the same age as Bremer and wouldn’t cost a thing. He also fits in already and Liverpool know him completely.
So all things considered, we’re not sure this is going to happen. There was a time a few months ago where we really liked the idea. Things have changed since, though.
If Everton do want him, we imagine they can move for Bremer without competing with Liverpool.
