Liverpool won’t consider an offer from PSG under £80m for Mohamed Salah, according to reports. The Parisians want the forward as a Kylian Mbappe replacement.
This comes from EPSN. They claim that Paris Saint-Germain want Mohamed Salah if Kylian Mbappe leaves this summer. The Frenchman is coming into the final year of his contract, putting his future up in the air.
PSG could decide to sell, then, to rule out losing him for nothing in a year. And in that case, they’d immediately move for Salah. They’re not the only outlet claiming that, either. Bild, for instance, have said similar in recent days.
But where ESPN differ is in naming Liverpool’s price. They claim the Reds wouldn’t consider anything under £80m for Salah this summer.
It’s a hefty price for someone who turns 29 next month. PSG would have to want want an immediate ‘win now’ signing to justify the price. Salah, though, could be exactly that.

PSG could make Salah offer
From our point of view, £80m is still too cheap. Salah still has two years left on his deal and there’s no need to sell. His importance to Liverpool puts him above that £80m mark, we think.
The season he’s having is absolutely remarkable, after all. He got his 30th for the season against Manchester United – an incredible number considering how bad Liverpool have been this season.
Salah has played in a dysfunctional, broken team for most of the campaign and still delivered elite numbers. But every player has their price.
For us, Liverpool should see how much it would take to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Salah’s price should be able to cover that fee with cash to spare – only then PSG might get their man.
But really, we’d just rather Liverpool held onto Salah. There’s a title to be won next season and he’s set to play as big a part as anyone.
