Liverpool haven’t had their best season, far from it. The Reds have struggled for consistent form. Jürgen Klopp’s side haven’t lived up to expectations but some players are performing better than others. Bruno Fernandes has lept to the defence of Mo Salah amid criticism about his form.

Liverpool struggles
The Reds haven’t lived up to expectations for a number of reasons.
Liverpool have suffered at the hands of an unprecedented injury crisis and it has proved to be the core of our problems.
Jürgen Klopp lost every one of his senior centre backs to injury this season with a parade of youngsters stepping up.
This has led to a lack of confidence and a lack of rotation with players shifted this way and that to paper over cracks.
As a result the side find themselves scrapping tooth and nail for a top four finish.
Bruno Fernandes on Mo Salah
2021 has been a poor year for our attack so far.
The Reds have been profligate in front of goal, causing many to question the future of the trio.
There was controversy this week when Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher left the Egyptian King out of their respective teams of the season.
Bruno Fernandes has defended Mo Salah, telling his club’s official site:
“If we go to the Liverpool squad, for example, I think Salah, if you say he’s playing well or not, he’s still scoring goals.”
What RTK has to say
Bruno Fernandes will understand the position Mo Salah is in.
Sometimes goals aren’t enough when the team isn’t living up to expectations.
Fingers crossed we see some more Mo Salah goals this week in a vital tie with Manchester United.
