Liverpool are going to have to do some serious business over the summer. The Reds have been torrid in the second half of this season and some decisive changes are expected as a result. There could be as many ins as outs this summer. James Pearce has clarified one possible out, telling The Athletic that there is no chance of Mo Salah signing for Chelsea.

Front three uncertainty
This summer could well see the breakup of Liverpool’s feared front three.
The attacking trio have been terrifying defences since they came together in 2016.
However, this season has seen a massive drop off in output, a drop off dramatic enough for fans and pundits to begin questioning the long term future of the lineup.
Jamie Carragher has said that this summer is the time to break up the trident whilst Simon Hughes told the Red Agenda Podcast that the Reds’ are determined to sign a striker this summer, saying:
“From what I’ve been told, that’s something that Liverpool are looking at in the summer [signing an attacker], the one area they do want to improve on.”
James Pearce on Mo Salah and Chelsea
Should the front three be broken up then we’d expect one of them sold rather than them being moved to the bench.
Who would be sold is anybody’s guess and would depend on how much we can squeeze a buyer for.
Last week saw Christian Falk claim that Mo Salah is of interest to Chelsea with the West London side considering bringing him back to Stamford Bridge.
James Pearce has rubbished these rumours, telling a Q&A for The Athletic:
“There is absolutely zero chance that Salah goes to Chelsea this summer. Liverpool have no intention of selling him and certainly if he did ever leave it wouldn’t be to another English club.
“I struggle to believe he’s even on a shortlist because Chelsea will know it’s impossible.”
What RTK has to say
There was never any way this was going to happen.
Liverpool wouldn’t sell Mo Salah to Chelsea because they know it’d be a PR disaster.
The only way this happens is if Chelsea cough up an absurd amount of money.
However, as James Pearce points out, they won’t even be considering the transfer because they know how impossible it would be to do.
