Report: Sancho available at a discount and Liverpool keen on his signature

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho will be allowed to leave the club at a discount this summer.

Liverpool are very interested in his signature and believe that they have everything in place to make him the “superstar of the decade”, according to Bild.

The German publication claims that he will not be a bargain as such, but will come with a “Corona discount”.

A few days ago, Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said that Sancho would be allowed to leave in the summer if certain conditions are met.

In an interview with Ard (via Bein Sports), Zorc said: “We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions.”

So it looks like Sancho wants to move, while Dortmund are open to letting him leave.

And now Liverpool appear to be one of the frontrunners for his signature. Hopefully, Dortmund will be willing to do their former manager Jurgen Klopp a favour.

Sancho would be a perfect fit at Anfield

While this season has seen him slow down somewhat, Jadon Sancho is a generational talent.

He got 59 Bundesliga goals and assists in 66 appearances in the two seasons prior to this one. He was under 20-years-old for the majority of this time.

This season has brought six goals and nine assists in 23 games, which is by no means bad either.

He has suffered with injury and distractions but has still put up good numbers.

There is no doubt that he will improve again, assuming he continues to apply himself.

Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are seen as the top two talents in the world. But Sancho has everything needed to overtake them in the coming years.

With Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane approaching 30, Liverpool need new wide forwards.

Sancho would be the ideal target.

A front three of Sancho, Diogo Jota and a No 9 like Donyell Malen would be one of the world’s best immediately. One can only dream of how good it would be in 4-5 years time.

If Liverpool can get him for between £75m and £90m, they absolutely should.

Jadon Sancho is worth it.
