Harry Wilson netted a superlative hat-trick for Cardiff City this weekend, doing the Reds a big favour.

24-year-old Welshman Harry Wilson has been at Liverpool since U9 level.

The versatile attacking midfielder has spent his senior career on a series of loan spells, making sporadic friendly appearances for the Reds in between.

His first loan move saw him join Hull City in where he impressed in the 2017/18 season.

The following campaign Wilson was a standout performer for Derby County.

The Welshman had a monopoly on the club’s goal of the month award for a while, even netting a stunning free kick against Manchester United in the cup.

A disappointing season with Bournemouth followed with injuries limiting the winger’s appearances.

This season has seen Wilson on loan at Cardiff City where he has once again impressed in the second tier.

Wilson has bagged seven goals and 11 assists in the Championship this term, earning him a WhoScored rating of 6.98.

This weekend saw a vintage display from the on loan Liverpool winger.

Cardiff City thrashed Birmingham City 4-0 away from home.

Harry Wilson netted a superlative hat-trick to fire his side to victory.

It was a hat-trick which perfectly encapsulated the winger’s move impressive traits.

The opening goal saw him hounding the opposition and seizing on a loose pass at the back.

The goalkeeper off his line the Welshman made a split second decision to curl one into the far corner from range with the outside of his foot.

The winger added his second with a free kick just before halftime.

Wilson’s hat-trick was completed with another set piece in the 86th minute, the ball whipped past the wall and a helpless keeper.

Michael Edwards will be looking for a permanent move for Wilson over the summer.

This superlative hat-trick has done Liverpool a massive favour as it was a showcase of just what he is capable of.

Edwards will have the game’s highlight reel bookmarked for any upcoming negotiations.

We need to squeeze buyers for every last penny given the scale of the rebuild necessary, having outgoing players banging goals in like this is great for the cause.
