Liverpool have had a tumultuous week and we are far from out of the woods. The past few days have been turbulent to say the least, now the Super League is dead it is a matter of what to do with the wronguns. Liverpool need to make their summer signings ASAP before punishments become clear.

Super League scandal
The past week has been an absolute rollercoaster.
I say past week, it’s not even been a week yet it feels like a lifetime.
On Sunday night Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham, AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus and Real Madrid announced that they were breaking away to form a European Super League.
The competition would take the place of the Champions League and would be something of a closed shop.
That is to say that 15 teams would be guaranteed a place in the competition each year whilst five further teams would qualify based on domestic achievements.
The announcement was met with widespread condemnation.
Everybody from fans to pundits and politicians came out in opposition to the idea.
The plan threatened the existence of the sport as we know it today by jeopardising the integrity of the football pyramid.
Thankfully, the backlash was so vicious that by Wednesday morning all of the English teams involved had pulled out.
The project now appears dead in the water with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli admitting it is impossible to proceed.
Possible punishments
There is no telling just how severe the punishments for the clubs involved will be.
There are fans calling for points deductions, continental bans, fines, some even want the teams relegated.
According to Sky the mood in the Premier League is that the other 14 teams would rather punish the executives behind the decision instead of docking the sides points and in turn punishing fans.
Liverpool and summer signings
The Reds need to make some sweeping changes to the squad before next season.
We need to avoid another injury crisis derailing our season and as a result the club will have to strengthen the depth in the squad.
There is also the matter of a lethal finisher arriving to bring goals back to the front three.
Liverpool need to make these summer signings ASAP.
It could be difficult to attract major signings if punishments are severe, we need to ensure that we get business done early to avoid penalties influencing players’ decisions.
