Liverpool take on Leeds United on Monday night with the Reds well aware of what is at stake. Jürgen Klopp’s men can leapfrog Chelsea into the top four if they win, it is a game of vital importance. Speaking exclusively to Rousing the Kop, Emile Heskey has warned Liverpool about Raphinha.
This Monday night sees a storied fixture played out at Elland Road, two giants of the English game reigniting an old rivalry.
A Liverpool win would propel them into the top four, an almighty achievement given the ridiculous injury crisis which has plagued the club this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be no pushovers, the newly promoted club have played entertaining football all season, electrifying opposition with their intense pressing and relentless attacks.
Liverpool warned about Raphinha
There are plenty of Leeds United players who could cause the Reds problems.
Theirs is a team full of energy and directness. We asked ex-Anfield striker Emile Heskey who the opposition dangerman is on Monday night, he told us that Liverpool should be worried about Raphinha:
“Raphinha, show him down the line. Don’t give him space in behind. Knowing that his movement is to bring you in to spin out because he’s got that much pace, pace to burn and he likes to use it.
“A lot of players have pace but they don’t want to use it they want to dribble with it. He doesn’t mind ust knocking it past you. Show him down the line. Don’t let him in.”
What RTK has to say
The Brazilian is going to be a constant threat, if he is passed fit that is.
The Reds may well have a task on their hands keeping the winger quiet.
If he wasn’t any good then we wouldn’t have been linked with a move for him.
Fingers crossed the defence is switched on enough to not get sucked in too early.
