One player is proving particularly impressive; James Pearce believes that James Balagizi will make it at the highest level.

Who is James Balagizi?

17-year-old attacking midfielder James Balagizi is the creative heartbeat of the Liverpool U18s.

The youngster joined the Reds’ academy as an U11 player, arriving from Manchester City.

In the years since he’s lit up the Liverpool youth set up with his dribbling ability and eye for a killer ball.

Balagizi signed his first professional contract with the club in September 2020 and he’s also represented England at U17 level.

This week saw another standout performance for the teenager.

The young Reds thrashed Leicester City 5-1 away from home to advance into the quarter final of the FA Youth Cup.

Balagizi netted a hat-trick on the night, inspiring his side to victory alongside a brace from the in form Max Woltman.

Tweeting after the game James Pearce was full of praise for James Balagizi.

The Athletic journalist said he’d be surprised if the youngster doesn’t make it at the very highest level.
