Top four race

Who would’ve thought that this season would end with the Reds scrambling for the top four?

Liverpool were top at Christmas but the wheels were always going to come off at some point.

The injury crisis the club has faced this term has left the squad thin, fatigued and disjointed.

As a result the Reds slid down the table and now need to win each of their remaining games in order to have any hope of qualifying for the Champions League.

Manchester United in Europe

This term has seen Man United knocked out of the Champions League but they have put in a strong campaign in the Europa League.

The Red Devils breezed past Spanish side Granada in the quarter finals, beating the La Liga outfit 4-0 on aggregate.

This has set up a semi-final tie with Italian giants Roma.

Liverpool boost for Manchester United tie

The Reds stand to benefit massively from their rivals’ success in Europe.

Liverpool play Manchester United in between the Red Devils’ two games with Roma.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side likely to have secured their top four spot by this point, we may see the Reds facing a much changed and rested Manchester United.

Given that we can’t afford to drop any points at this stage, such leniency could prove massive.
