Liverpool are constantly linked with big money buys but this week has produced a particularly exciting rumour. The Reds are going to be looking to sign a midfielder this summer with one on his way out. According to The Mirror, Liverpool want to sign Pedri from Barcelona, he would be a generational signing.
Liverpool are set to lose at least one midfielder this summer.
Gini Wijnaldum is expected to leave the club on a free transfer with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The Dutchman has been undroppable since he signed for the club in 2016, his absence will be felt.
Given the inconsistent fitness of the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, we can’t afford to not replace Gini Wijnaldum.

Liverpool want Pedri
There are plenty of candidates for Gini’s replacement.
Recently the Reds were linked with a swoop for AZ Alkmaar’s Teun Koopmeiners.
The latest link, from The Mirror, is the most exciting one yet with Liverpool reportedly interested in Pedri.
The 18-year-old centre midfielder is regarded as the future of the Barcelona midfield.
At his young age he’s already a regular feature in the Catalan side, starting 22 league games this term.
There is plenty of hype around the teeanger and it’s easy to see why.
The youngster is constantly impressing whilst playing at the highest level.
He has his whole career ahead of him, Liverpool signing Pedri would be a generational move.
We would have him in the middle for over a decade and he would just getter and better.
Barcelona are said to be working on a contract extension which would raise his release clause to £350m. If we can avoid that problem then this could be a winner.
