Liverpool have made contact over Barcelona’s Pedri, according to reports. The teenager is a hugely promising talent.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim that Liverpool have talked with representatives for Pedri.
The 18-year-old is having a breakthrough season with Barcelona, quickly establishing himself as a star for the future. Liverpool, it seems, want that future at Anfield.
Inevitably, Barcelona have offered Pedri a new contract to keep him in Catalonia. They’ll have to get him to agree to one, too, as his release clause will soon tempt major clubs.
The clause is around £70m – an enormous fee for a regular player but Pedri is making it look like a bargain. After all, he’s 18 and playing at a high level in La Liga.

What RTK has to say
We believe it. In fact, we’d be shocked if Liverpool hadn’t asked about Pedri.
£70m could get you a young player with enormous potential. He looks virtually guaranteed to be worth that in his prime at the very least.
Liverpool could develop him however they see fit, and get their money back with a sale at the very least. The upside is huge – he could feasibly be worth twice that in just a few years.
Barcelona aren’t what they were, either. If Lionel Messi leaves, in fact, they quickly become a bit of a mess.
Tempting a young player from there isn’t the impossible task it once was, then. Liverpool may just fancy their chances of getting Pedri – especially if they show faith in him with a £70m transfer.
We don’t think it will actually happen, though. It’s still a massive price for such a young player, even one who looks as talented as Pedri.
But if the option is there, Liverpool would be mad not to ask about it.
