Liverpool have been steadily recruiting some of the brightest youngsters around in recent seasons. The Reds have snapped up some exciting prospects for the academy and the best are making waves. Kaide Gordon netted a brace for the Liverpool academy this week, should he step up to the U23s?

The winter transfer window saw the Reds bring in two centre backs to plug the gaps in the first team.
However, there was also a raft of youth signings.
The Reds brought in versatile Birmingham City academy star Calum Scanlon.
Stefan Bajcetic was also signed, the defender arriving from Celta Vigo.
The headline signing was that of Kaide Gordon from Derby County.
The versatile midfielder came highly recommended by Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United legend describing the youngster as the best 16-year-old in the country.

This week the U18s beat Wolves 4-1 at the academy.
The Reds earned a victory thanks to braces from Max Woltman and Kaide Gordon.
The recent arrival was in fine fettle throughout the game, constantly threatening the visitors back line with his inventive passing and dribbling ability.
Time for U23s?
Gordon just keeps impressing for the U18s, perhaps it’s time to promote him.
In one of our exclusive interviews with Emile Heskey, the ex-England forward told us that if an academy player is finding a level too easy then you’re not doing him justice.
Gordon made his senior debut for Derby County shortly before his switch to Liverpool, he has what it takes. Hopefully we’ll see him promoted sooner rather than later.
