Liverpool are going to have to make some big moves this summer. The Reds have been lacklustre in the league after an injury crisis derailed the side’s title defence. One man is the signing every Kopite wants. Liverpool hopes of landing Kylian Mbappe may have been boosted by PSG agreeing a new long term deal with Neymar.
The Reds have been goal shy in recent months.
The front line, when without Diogo Jota, has looked stale and out of ideas.
Fatigue has certainly played its part with the attacking trio undroppable due to the lack of depth we have up top.
We need a lethal striker to come in and start finishing the half chances which are being created, particularly if teams persist with a low block against us.
Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe
For years the Reds have been linked with the crown prince of French football.
Liverpool interest in Kylian Mbappe is well reported, ESPN are just one of a dozen outlets to relay the Reds’ ambitions.
The Frenchman will never be more obtainable than this summer.
He will be entering the final year of his contract, forcing PSG into doing a deal at a more reasonable fee otherwise they risk losing one of the most valuable players on the planet for free.
According to Telefoot (via AS), Neymar has agreed a pre-contract with PSG which will keep him at the club until 2026.
The Brazilian will likely see improved terms in the deal, a costly endeavour.
Given the demands Mbappe could make for his next contract and the fact that PSG will likely need to spend on recruitment this summer, Neymar’s contract could indicate that the French side have made their choice.
PSG could well be resigned to losing Kylian Mbappe as it could be too expensive to tie down Neymar and the Frenchman whilst also making a big signing.
This could be a big boost for Liverpool in their pursuit of Mbappe.
