Report: Arsenal could sell one-time Liverpool target Bukayo Saka

Arsenal could sell Bukayo Saka, according to reports. Liverpool supposedly wanted to play a year ago.

This comes from The Times. They claim that Arsenal may sell Bukayo Saka in order to fund a rebuild at the club.

Written before their 3-0 defeat to Liverpool, the report claims that money would be very tight without European football. Losing to the Reds made that a probability, rather than a possibility.

Thus if Arsenal wish to move forward, they may have to sell a valuable asset to make it happen. Saka would be near the top of the list in terms of value.

Mikel Arteta wants to keep the player but may have to make a very difficult decision if he hopes for reinforcements.

What RTK has to say

It was only a year ago that Liverpool were linked with Saka virtually every week. He was yet to sign a long-term contract and the Reds were one side hoping to pounce.

That’s according to the Daily Mail from February last year – but they weren’t the only outlet reporting it.

And it appears the Reds may have a second shot. The difference this time, though, is that Saka would be very expensive.

But Liverpool may just about justify any price. Saka is a fantastically talented 19-year-old who provides goals and assists.

His versatility means you can easily find a spot for him, too. Saka can play left-back, left-wing, right-wing and in centre-midfield. Remarkably few can do that, especially at 19.

So you can guarantee that Liverpool will look at the situation if Arsenal do decide to sell. He’s just too talented and too unique not to.

The downside is that the Reds won’t be the only ones looking. Every top club in Europe will want Saka at a decent price and competition will be fierce.

Still, we didn’t imagine a second chance at this one would come around so soon. Maybe Liverpool can get their man, after all.
