This summer needs to be a big one from Liverpool. Michael Edwards has his work cut out for him resolving the many issues in the squad. We need reinforcements and upgrades throughout. According to Duncan Castles, Liverpool will have a substantial transfer budget this summer.
Reinforcements and upgrades
The first XI, when fit, isn’t a bad side at all.
The issue we’ve had this season is that we haven’t once seen the best XI on the pitch, not once.
Injuries have blighted the Reds throughout the season; Jürgen Klopp has seen every one of his senior centre backs sidelined until the 2021-22 campaign.
This has exposed a lack of quality in depth. We need to reinforce certain areas of the squad and sign upgrades on our current backup stars.

Liverpool transfer budget
Bringing these reinforcements and upgrades in will cost money.
According to Duncan Castles, Liverpool will have a substantial transfer budget this summer.
The journalist told the Transfer Window Podcast:
“My information is that Liverpool have a budget to sign a striker, who can also play wide, in the summer window and it’s a substantial budget.
“They’re looking for a player of similar type to Mo Salah.
“Now, I’m not saying that means Salah is leaving, I’m just saying that Liverpool are doing the proprietary work to sign a player of his type.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool will need a substantial transfer budget if they’re to address the issues we’ve seen this season.
Jürgen Klopp is crying out for a lethal finisher up top.
Maybe this is finally the year that Liverpool sign Kylian Mbappe? He won’t ever be more affordable than he is this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
