Neco Williams caught the eye for Wales on Wednesday despite his country’s defeat to Belgium. The teenager earned rave reviews from some fans.
Neco Williams got himself another cap for Wales as the team fell to a 3-1 defeat against Belgium. They did take the lead, however.
And it was a Liverpool man who got it. Harry Wilson slotted home after a fantastic team move, making it 1-0 after just 10 minutes.
Unfortunately, Belgium took over after that. The Red Devils dominated possession with 75 per cent and limited the Welsh to just the one shot on target.
Still, it was never going to be an easy game against one of the best teams on the planet. When Wales were drawing up a plan to get out of the qualifying group, winning away to Belgium likely wasn’t on it.

So fans found something else to shout about after the game – Williams.
The 19-year-old started as a left-wingback for Wales, putting him up against Thomas Meunier and Kevin De Bruyne. And it’s safe to say he left an impression.
Fans flocked to Twitter to praise the Liverpool prodigy and hail him for his performance. We’ve picked out some of our favourites.

What RTK has to say
Williams performing against top teams is nothing but great news for Liverpool. They’re not even using him and he’s still experiencing quality opposition!
So more of this, please, Wales. Williams is a 19-year-old full-back with great potential. He just sometimes struggles with the pressure and physicality at Liverpool.
If Wales are able to help him shake some of that off, then that’s wonderful. He can hopefully take the experience over to Anfield and keep improving there.
Williams has had some tough times this season but we’re still backing him to become a solid option for Liverpool. Praise like this only supports that stance.
