Ozan Kabak got fans talking on Wednesday with a starring role against the Netherlands. Turkey ran out 4-2 winners.
Ozan Kabak is busy building a reputation with Liverpool fans. He appears to have overcome a rocky start and now he’s playing very well.
We’ve seen it in recent weeks in Red, of course. Kabak has partnered Nat Phillips at the back, keeping clean-sheets in big games against RB Leipzig and Wolves.
And now he’s doing it for Turkey, too.
Kabak started for his country against the Netherlands on Wednesday as Turkey ran out 4-2 winners. They took a 3-0 half-time lead, in fact, as they ran the Dutch riot.

With the Netherlands did pull two back, it wasn’t quite enough and Turkey took a huge win in their World Cup qualifying group.
Kabak was a huge part of that and his stats look great coming out of the game. He cleared the ball 13 times in the game – five more than anyone else – on top of three interceptions. The latter figure was the joint-second most.
The 20-year-old also didn’t get dribbled past once, nor was he dispossessed. Kabak created a chance, too, and completed a dribble.
His 59 touches were the most for Turkey, too – 12 more than anyone else. He kept it well, too, completing 86% of his passes. Again, no one managed better for his side.
But these stats don’t take into account a goal line clearance from Kabak. It was a moment that helped secure the win.
There’s a lot to shout about here, then. And Liverpool fans took to Twitter to do just that.

What RTK has to say
More of this, please. It’s easy to forget that Kabak is still only 20 but Liverpool will like the sound of making his move permanent if he can already perform like this.
This was a big game against a good side but Kabak was a rock. A few more of these in Red and we’ll truly have something special on our hands.
Very, very promising.
