Juventus are in the race for Houseem Aouar, according to reports. Liverpool supposedly want the Frenchman, too.
This comes from Tuttosport. They claim that Juventus are figuring out how to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon.
The Old Lady are in an interesting position there. Lyon currently have Mattia De Sciglio on loan from Juventus and want to keep him.
Juve may look to use De Sciglio to drive Aouar’s price down, then. The current asking-price is around £35m.
That’s tempting enough for the Italians but with the potential to go even lower, Aouar becomes a very exciting prospect. Especially as he’s a player they had their eye on last Autumn.

Not that they’re the only ones reportedly eyeing up Aouar. Goal claimed recently that Liverpool had the Frenchman on their shortlist.
And much like Juve, he’s been there for some time. The Mirror claimed back in June that Aouar had been a principal target before football’s finances took a hit last summer.
The Reds may be back in for him this time around, though, as they look to provide a boost after this disappointing season.
What RTK has to say
De Sciglio certainly provides an advantage for Juventus if they are going to pursue Aouar. And that’s a shame as we’d really like Liverpool to get him.
We said last year that Aouar is a great fit under Jurgen Klopp and we stand by that. It appears Liverpool agree if they’ve kept him on their shortlist for this long.
Unfortunately, he’d be a great fit for many other sides, too, and competition will be fierce. Though, we did believe that would be the case last year and he ended up staying with Lyon.
We’ll have to wait and see, then. Aouar is a very good player, though, and we hope Liverpool formally get involved.
