Eden Hazard is ‘very annoyed’ at missing Real Madrid vs Liverpool, according to reports. The Belgian sees it as a special game.
This comes from Defensa Central. They claim that Eden Hazard will almost certainly miss both legs of Liverpool vs Real Madrid.
The chances of him playing are effectively ‘nil’, apparently, such is Hazard’s struggle with injuries. And he hasn’t reacted well to that.
The report claims Hazard is ‘very annoyed’ at missing the games. He sees a ‘special’ rivalry with Liverpool, presumably from his Chelsea days, and believes the tie could have been ‘his’.
Instead, he’ll likely watch from the stands.
What RTK has to say
It’s kind of incredible how far Hazard has fallen in just 18 months. But we can honestly say that we weren’t worried about him playing.
Hazard only has four goals across La Liga and the Champions League since joining Los Blancos in 2019. You can add five assists to that but the numbers really aren’t impressive.
Injuries are a huge part of that, of course. Hazard only featured in 22 games last season and only 12 this campaign – Real struggle to get him on the pitch.
But his record still isn’t very good, even when he has played. Hazard is no longer the force he was.
Still, Real not having him is an advantage to Liverpool – just not as big an advantage as you’d think. He just hasn’t been an elite player in Spain.

Instead, the big danger will be Karim Benzema. He’s got 17 goals this season with another six assists and is playing some fantastic football.
Beyond him, though, Real don’t really have forwards to fear. Their next-highest scorer is Casemiro with five – but we’re more worried about his defending.
Perhaps this all highlights why Real is a good draw for Liverpool. With Hazard not available, let alone at his best, they don’t have the firepower to terrify the Reds’ weak defence.
