Liverpool are likely going to invest in the transfer market this summer. The Reds need to bring in some fresh blood after a disappointing season. Jürgen Klopp will want to liven up his attack with the goals drying up since Christmas. According to reports in Germany, Liverpool are considering a move for Matthew Hoppe at Schalke.
Who is Matthew Hoppe?
20-year-old striker Matthew Hoppe currently plays up top for Schalke in the Bundesliga.
The American forward has been at the German side since 2019, joining from the Barca Residency Academy in Arizona, he previously spent time with LA Galaxy.
This season he’s been one of the few positives for the struggling side, netting five in his 12 starts in the Bundesliga – not an awful return for a youngster breaking into a side bottom of the table.

What RTK has to say
We aren’t convinced by this one.
Liverpool signing Matthew Hoppe wouldn’t be the solution to our problems.
We need to splash out on a big name signing, we need a decisive upgrade to our central striking role.
Going in for a promising young forward shouldn’t be our priority now.
