Liverpool are expected to be active in the summer transfer window. The Reds have systemic issues in the squad which need to be addressed and there’s surely going to be money to spend. According to reports in Italy, Liverpool are interested in Alessandro Bastoni at Inter Milan.
Centre back issues
The centre of Liverpool’s defence has been the defining feature of this season.
Jürgen Klopp has lost every one of his senior pros until next term.
This has seen midfielders such as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho deputise at the back alongside a parade of youngster such as Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams.
In the winter window Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak were brought in to stop the rot.

Despite the additions there are still question marks over next season’s lineup.
Liverpool want Alessandro Bastoni
The Reds have been linked with all and sundry in recent months and they will be until the summer transfer window closes.
The latest name Liverpool have been linked with is Alessandro Bastoni.
Gazzetta Dello Sport has claimed the Liverpool have no problem paying €50m (£43m) for Bastoni.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the defender who the article describes, along with Nico Barella, as the future of Inter Milan and the Italian national side.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Alessandro Bastoni would fit the bill.
He’s just 21-years-old and he has heaps of first time experience.
This season alone he’s played 24 of Inter’s 27 league games, bagging three assists from centre back.
Whether or not we’re going to splash out on a defender given the impressive form of Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips is another matter.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
