Liverpool are going to have to invest heavily in the transfer market this summer. The Reds are expected to move on a host of players and lose a key star on a free. According to Eurosport, Liverpool want to sign Sander Berge to replace the outbound Gini Wijnaldum.

Gini Wijnaldum leaving
The Reds brought Gini Wijnaldum to the club in 2016.
Newcastle United had just been relegated but the Dutchman had been a leading light for the Magpies, even netting four in one game.
After joining Liverpool we saw Gini Wijnaldum become a dynamic box-to-box midfielder.
He wins the ball and he keeps it, it is impossible to tackle him at times.
Unfortunately, his contract expires in the summer and he doesn’t appear to be signing an extension.
The Dutchman reportedly wants a well deserved pay hike but the club are wary of agreeing due to his age.
Liverpool want Sander Berge
The Reds must already be planning for Gini’s departure.
According to Eurosport, Liverpool are considering a move for Sander Berge.
The 6ft 5in Sheffield United star was allegedly on the Reds’ radar before he moved to the Blades.
The report states that Aston Villa are also interested in the towering centre midfielder.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Berge would be true to form.
We often look at recruiting from relegated sides as the moves can represent good value as teams look to raise funds.
In recent seasons we’ve brought in Wijnaldum, Andy Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri from relegated clubs. Could Sander Berge be the latest name on the list?
