'Would make sense': Journalist backs Liverpool links to Paulo Dybala

Liverpool are going to have to spend in the summer, there’s no two ways about it. The Reds are in need of investment. This season has shown up the lack of quality in depth at the club and we need to address the issue emphatically. Liverpool ECHO journalist Matt Addison has backed Liverpool links to Paulo Dybala.

Front line investment

There’s no ignoring the fact that Liverpool’s goals have dried up this season.

Facing low blocks and dealing with relentless injury problems has left Jürgen Klopp’s side toothless on the front foot.

We need to be able to rotate our front line in order to keep them all fresh and fighting.

Intensity has scored our goals in recent seasons but with fatigue comes a drop in intensity, this fatigue has been brought on by a shortened pre-season and the poor form of our backup stars.

Liverpool links to Paulo Dybala backed

There are going to be plenty of names linked with a move to the Reds in the coming months.

El Gol Digital recently claimed Liverpool are considering a move for Paulo Dybala with a £60m fee touted.

Speaking on the Blood Red Podcast, Matt Addison discussed Liverpool links to Paulo Dybala, saying:

“It’s an interesting one. There’s been speculation in the past about him coming to England and maybe being interested in a move to the Premier League, so I’d say it’s one to watch out for.

“If the links do get stronger over the next few weeks, I think it’s it’s one that would make a little bit of sense, certainly footballing-wise.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Paulo Dybala makes sense until you look at his injury record.

He’s a fantastic footballer but he’s only managed eight starts this season due to fitness problems.

Given this season’s issues we surely wouldn’t be looking at signing another liability.
