Jurgen Klopp called Diogo Jota ‘class’ after Liverpool beat Wolves 1-0. The 24-year-old grabbed the only goal.
That’s back-to-back games now where Jota has made the difference. Not bad after months away from the team.
Jota started the season on fire, of course. Injury derailed everything in December, though, and he’s only just back in action.
But after an assist for the opener against RB Leipzig last time out, Jota grabbed the winner against Wolves. And Jurgen Klopp thinks that’s mightily impressive.
“Diogo is just a class football player,” he said after the game, per Liverpoolfc.com. “But we don’t, we cannot take it for granted that a boy who’s been out for three months – or maybe even a little bit longer – is coming back and has an immediate impact again.
“That’s pretty rare, to be honest, but he has [had an impact] since he’s back.”
What RTK has to say
It’s exactly how we dreamed it. Liverpool have been crying out for more from the forwards and here’s Jota to save the day.
Jota has played as a striker for the last two games and Liverpool look sharper. Not just the player – the whole team.
They’re frequently going long more often and forcing teams out of shape. Jota is a huge part of that, with his constant energy and pace wreaking havoc.

Liverpool are incredibly fortunate that he’s found this level so quickly after coming back. The really good news, then, is that he can’t possibly be at his best yet.
There’s even more to come from Jota and that will prove invaluable. Liverpool just need more from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino – then things will really start looking special again.
Jota’s return is, hopefully, what Liverpool needed to propel them to a successful season.
