Liverpool should sell Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in the summer

Liverpool are set for a big summer transfer window. The Reds have been in turmoil for most of the season, giving the club plenty of problems to address before the start of the next campaign. Liverpool should sell Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies in the summer; they’d make a sizeable profit off the pair.

Liverpool sign Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak

This season has been one characterised by injuries throughout the team.

By far the worst hit position has been centre back.

Jürgen Klopp has had to chop and change and make do with whichever side he could field.

For most of the campaign we’ve had at least one midfielder in the back four, for stretches we had two.

With Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez all ruled out until next season the Reds had to dip into the transfer market.

In the winter window Liverpool signed Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak.

Davies arrived from Preston North End for a paltry fee whilst Kabak was loaned in from Schalke with the Reds retaining the option to buy at the end of the season.

Another centre back signing needed

This summer we expect Liverpool to sign another centre back.

The winter window signings were last minute, rushed options.

We brought in who we could, not necessarily who we wanted.

The club will surely bring in a more ambitious target, one who fits the system and can be relied upon to get through a season uninjured.

Sell Davies and Kabak

Ben Davies was signed for around £1.6m. Liverpool can make the Ozan Kabak deal permanent for just £18m.

This summer the club could make a sizeable by selling them both; they’d of course have to buy the Turkish centre back outright first.

The Reds could use this money to secure a preferred target more a smaller net spend.

Michael Edwards and FSG have always been ones for wheeling and dealing, this summer is the ideal opportunity for them to flex their stuff.
