Liverpool are likely to be back in the transfer market this summer after a disastrous season exposed how thin the squad depth is at the club. The Reds need to bring in a lethal finisher but they also need to settle on a centre back roster. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Ibrahima Konate, some Kopites have had their say.

Centre back needed

Have you ever seen anything like it?

This season Jürgen Klopp lost every single one of his senior centre backs.

Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the season in October, Joe Gomez suffered the same fate a few weeks later.

Joel Matip fought on until January when he too was sidelined until next term.

Although Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies arrived in the winter window we can’t be certain that the club are settled or satisfied, they may well chop and change further in the summer.

Liverpool linked with Ibrahima Konate

This summer will see the Reds rumoured to be after all and sundry.

The rumour mill is already well up and running.

According to the Sunday World, Liverpool are interested in Ibrahima Konate.

The Frenchman could allegedly arrive in a £34m deal and the defender is said to be open to the challenge of playing under Jürgen Klopp.

Such a signing would surely spell the end for either Ozan Kabak or Ben Davies, though the report goes on to point out that the Reds will listen to offers for Joel Matip.
