Jurgen Klopp isn’t entirely sold on Kostas Tsimikas, according to reports. The Greek defender arrived in the summer.
This comes from the Athletic. They claim that there are two reasons Jurgen Klopp hasn’t been picking Kostas Tsimikas.
The first is obvious to everyone – he hasn’t been fit. Tsimikas has suffered a few injuries since joining ahead of the season. They’ve come at poor times, too, typically right when finally getting a chance.
But his struggles run deeper, it seems.
The Athletic’s article states that Klopp ‘has not seen sufficient evidence in training that he has sufficiently adapted to the team’s style of play’. And that’s going to be a problem.

Klopp voiced similar concerns about Ben Davies today, in fact.
“Ben Davies has to adapt, that is clear,” he told a press conference on Saturday. “Famous story is Andy Robertson, took him half a year in a normal year.
“Ben is a really good player but he has to get used to all the stuff here. We have options.”
There’s a big difference, however – Davies has been here 41 days, Tsimikas has been here over seven months. It’s concerning that he’s still not getting it.
Are things going to click into place by the end of the season? That doesn’t seem particularly likely right now and then it’s unclear what you do.
Because if you can’t get to grips with things over an entire season, it’s reasonable to believe it’ll never happen. And then a sale is the only real option.
Tsimikas is on a ticking clock, then. It’s hard to see how he makes an impact before the end of the campaign but if he doesn’t, it’s equally hard to see a future at Liverpool.
