Gladbach may put players up for sale this summer, according to reports. This is a crisis Liverpool can take advantage of.

This comes from Bild. They claim that no European football forces Gladbach into a fire sale this summer.

The German side have seen a dramatic drop in form over 2021, really since manager Marco Rose announced he’d join Dortmund at the end of the campaign.

Gladbach had been competing for Champions League spot – now they’re 10th and struggling for form. Sound familiar?

But while certain other clubs may be able to withstand the financial problems involved with such a drop, Gladbach can’t. The lack of fans this season will force them into a fire sale.

That, after all, is the easiest way to make money back. It’s also a situation Liverpool could use to their advantage.

Bargains

We’ve said before how price-drops could be Liverpool’s way to bounce-back this summer. You can secure bargains on players who usually wouldn’t be available.

Gladbach have two such players. Bild believe Liverpool want Denis Zakaria, for one. Then Kicker claim the Reds are after Florian Neuhaus.

Both players make complete sense as potential Gini Wijnaldum replacements. And that’s before you consider potential discounts.

Zakaria is an interesting one. His contract has under 18 months left and Gladbach really have no choice but to sell for something in the summer.

While Neuhaus looks like one of the best midfielders in Germany right now. Gladbach may fancy selling him to secure a big chunk of cash in one go.

Either way, this is a situation that Liverpool can use. Two very suitable players who have experience in a top European league, potentially available for a discount.

It’s exactly the scenario they should use this summer to get back on track. There are opportunities for some fantastic deals.
