Liverpool are expected to bring some fresh faces into the club over the summer. It is obvious that there are areas of the squad in dire need of reinforcements and rotation options. Plenty of names have been linked, from defenders to forwards. Udinese’s general director Pierpaolo Marino has said reported Liverpool target Rodrigo de Paul will cost ‘a lot of money’.

Liverpool need reinforcements

This season injuries have exposed a serious lack of depth at the club.

Our rivals, such as Man City, have been able to keep fighting on due to the immense quality they have in reserve.

Jürgen Klopp on the other hand has had to pull his stars this way and that just to paper over cracks left by injuries.

A defender will surely come in, along with a lethal finisher.

Given Gini Wijnaldum’s imminent departure, we also expect a midfielder to arrive.

Liverpool fired Rodrigo de Paul warning

One of the names Liverpool have been linked with is Rodrigo de Paul.

The Argentinian attacking midfielder currently plies his trade at Udinese in the Italian Serie A.

This term he has earned an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.4, notching five goals and five assists in 25 starts.

TuttoUdinese recently linked Liverpool with a move for De Paul.

This week when speaking about Rodrigo de Paul and goalkeeper Juan Musso, club director Pierpaolo Marino told the press, per CalcioMercato:

“It takes a lot of money to get them, but it’s not like we went looking for potential buyers. I don’t have the problem of needing to advertise them.

“If someone doesn’t realise how strong they are, selfishly, it’s better for me.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool pursuing Rodrigo de Paul makes sense given his numbers.

He’s clearly having an impressive season in Italy at 26-years-old he’s ideal FSG age: just about to hit his prime and young enough to sell on in a few years if he really impresses.

Whether or not we’ll bring in another attack minded midfielder without moving on the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Either way, if the Reds want him then we expect to get him – Michael Edwards isn’t one to be beaten.
