Liverpool take on RB Leipzig in the Champions League tonight. The Reds go into the game with a 2-0 away goal lead, knowing that progressing to the next round is nothing short of essential. One of our loan stars has already progressed. Some Liverpool fans have reacted to Marko Grujic being a bit cheeky against Juventus.
Marko Grujic loan
Marko Grujic was the first signing of the Jürgen Klopp era.
The Serbian midfielder agreed to join the Reds in January 2016.
Liverpool agreed a fee of £5.1m with Red Star Belgrade and Grujic joined that summer.
Since arriving at Anfield he’s failed to establish himself as a first team option.
The 24-year-old has been sent on loan to Cardiff City, Hertha Berlin and now Porto.
He’s made just three starts in the league for the Portuguese side, appearing 10 times from the bench.
Marko Grujic v Juventus
This week saw the Old Lady of Turin dumped out of the Champions League.
A dramatic tie at the Allianz Stadium went into extra time.
The game finished 2-1 after 90 minutes with Federico Chiesa’s well finished brace cancelling out a first half penalty for the visitors.
In extra time a long range Porto free kick found its way through a pathetic Juve wall, putting the Portuguese side 4-3 up on aggregate, the hosts needing two late goals to progress.
Adrien Rabiot scored a header a few minutes from time to make the final moments pretty nervy.
One man who wasn’t about to let his side lose was the Liverpool loanee.
Marko Grujic will have annoyed Juventus fans everywhere when he went down in 118th minute and made the most of it shall we say.
The Serbian midfielder was upended by a Juve defender and he went down clutching his face before shooting a cheeky glance towards the official – he was caught in 4K.
