FSG blame this terrible patch of Liverpool form on two factors, according to reports. The Reds are at a historic low.
This comes from The Times. They claim that FSG have their own thoughts on Liverpool and this awful run of form.
In short – they believe it’s an anomaly. It’s nothing to worry about too much and not a fair reflection of this Liverpool squad.
And that’s because they put it all down to two factors. Firstly, the injury crisis. Liverpool are without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip, and Jordan Henderson right now.
They’ve been without the former three for most of the season, too. That’s been a huge problem, given they’re the only senior centre-backs.
But virtually everyone has been out for at least one period. Right now, Henderson is out and may not return for some time.
The other factor? The unusual season. It’s a compact campaign with games coming thick and fast, played without fans.
It’s unique and therefore hard to judge.
What RTK has to say
They’re largely right. We’re certainly happy they’re not blaming Jurgen Klopp and co., anyway.
But it all depends on how far they believe this reasoning goes. There are definitely other factors at play that are far more worrying.
Certain players, for instance, are playing terribly and show no signs of turning it around anytime soon. It’s particularly worrying as many of those players are nearing 30 and running out of time.

Then there’s the mentality aspect. Liverpool just don’t look strong and crumble quickly. In fact, they’re pretty much permanently crumbled right now.
They’re losing to teams at the bottom of the league and can’t score goals at Anfield. The difference between their home and away form suggests this isn’t entirely about injuries – there’s a mentality problem.
So we’ll see how FSG react in the summer. If this horrendous form continues, it’ll become more and more difficult to blame just two factors.
