Liverpool to face RB Leipzig with Ozan Kabak and Roberto Firmino back

Liverpool have been utterly cursed by injuries this season. The Reds have lost a majority of their first team to the treatment table at one time or another, a trio of stars ruled out until next season. This week the side will look to rescue their season by progressing to the quarter finals of the Champions League. Liverpool face RB Leipzig this week and should have Ozan Kabak and Roberto Firmino available again.

Liverpool take on Leipzig

This week could prove crucial to Liverpool’s current season and next season.

The Reds very well may need to win the Champions League to qualify for the competition next term.

As Jürgen Klopp’s side slides further down the Premier League table, European glory becomes less likely and more essential.

The Reds go into the game with a 2-0 lead, both of them away goals.

Liverpool will technically be the home team when the two sides meet again at the Puskas Arena.

The job is simple, don’t concede more than one. Given our recent form that could be harder than it sounds.

Liverpool injury news ahead of Leipzig

The Reds were dealt further fitness blows over the weekend.

Jürgen Klopp was without two regular starters when he faced Fulham.

Thankfully, The Athletic has reported that Roberto Firmino and Ozan Kabak should be fit to face RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams lined up at the back in Kabak’s absence on Sunday.

Whilst Mo Salah played through the middle with Firmino missing.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool facing Leipzig with Firmino and Kabak back in the side is a big boost.

The Reds need all the help they can get for this game.

Thankfully, we seem to be in a more confident mood in Europe than we are at home.

Fingers crossed we are able to exploit Leipzig on the counter, they’ll have to come out and attack.
