Fabio Capello holds Nicolo Barella in very high regard. Reports link Liverpool with the midfielder.
Nicolo Barella is an elite player, according to Fabio Capello. The legendary manager said as much when talking to Sky Sports.
“[Antonio] Conte has in his team one of the best three midfielders in Europe, Nicolò Barella – without a doubt,” said Capello. “He has speed, vision, when he crosses the ball on the right he always puts it right, when he passes the ball it always arrives right.
“Barella has the same stroke as [Achraf] Hakimi but unlike Hakimi who ‘throws’ the ball in the middle, Barella puts it with precision.”
So why’s this relevant to Liverpool? Well, the Reds supposedly want the player.
InterLiver claims they’re ready to offer around £56m to sign Barella from Inter. The Nerazzurri, however, don’t intend to sell their star.
What RTK has to say
Barella is regarded very highly in Italy. That will only increase, too, should Inter deliver the Serie A title this season.
The 24-year-old plays a key part for them as one of their best players. Arguably, he’s their outright best.
Having a Scudetto on his CV would propel Barella’s stock even higher.
In short, we don’t think you get him for £56m. He’ll be worth more than that in a year and Inter, surely, don’t feel a need to sell.
But hey, if that figure is accurate, Liverpool should absolutely make a move. He’d be a perfect replacement for Gini Wijnaldum and is young enough to improve even further.

£56m would be a bit of a bargain, in fact. In reality, just about every major team would get involved for that price.
Liverpool would almost certainly face a fight for Barella that drives that price up.
Whatever the price, though, if Liverpool want Barella, you won’t hear a single objection from us.
