Liverpool could bid around £56m for Nico Barella, according to reports. The Italian won’t be a simple signing.
This comes from InterLive.it. They claim that Liverpool are prepared to approach Internazionale for Nico Barella.
They’d offer around £56m (€65m) for the player, too. That figure breaks Liverpool’s club-record for a midfielder.
As for Inter’s side of things, the report claims they’re determined to keep Barella.
What RTK has to say
Honestly, that figure seems cheap for Barella. He’s a fantastic player already and only just turned 24. There’s huge potential there.

And in truth, the source here isn’t the best. We don’t know much about InterLive and it seems unlikely that they know Liverpool’s plans.
Still, Barella is so good that we don’t doubt Liverpool’s interest. Every club should have an eye on him, just in case.
£56m would be a big price but again, it seems very fair in this market. We can’t imagine you’re getting better for that money.
We’d like to see this happen, then. Especially if Gini Wijnaldum does leave Liverpool at the end of his contract.
Barella would be an incredible replacement, both short-term and long-term. He’s a great age, too, lining up wonderfully with Diogo Jota.
Those two could end up creating a fine backbone to the side, along with the likes of the slightly younger Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.
Again, though, we have doubts over the idea that Liverpool are lining this one up in the way the report suggests. Instead, we imagine the Reds are looking at the situation just in case.
And if anything happens, then there’s no doubt that they’d ask about Barella.
After all, this is a player once called the ‘Sardinian Steven Gerrard’. It doesn’t get much better than that.
