Liverpool are sure to bolster their defence in the summer. The Reds have seen their entire centre back roster devastated by injury this term. Whilst two defenders were brought in during the winter window further reinforcements are likely. According to La Razon, Liverpool are planning a move for Aissa Mandi in the summer.
Centre back devastation
This season has been an awful time to be a Liverpool centre back.
The position has appeared cursed this term with the roster dropping like flies.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez were ruled out for the season in the opening months.
Joel Matip lasted (on and off) until January before he was ruled out until next season.
Two defenders came in in the winter window but whether or not they’re the long term solutions remains to be seen.
Liverpool want Aissa Mandi
The Reds are still being linked with just about every centre back on the planet.
This week Liverpool have once again been linked with Aissa Mandi.
According to La Razon the defender’s contract situation is something of a mystery with his deal expiring in the summer and no developments on a new contract.
The centre back, capped 59 times by Algeria is allegedly also wanted by AC Milan.
According to La Razon, Liverpool see signing Aissa Mandi on a free as a ‘very attractive option’.
What RTK has to say
We have the utmost faith in the Reds’ scouting team.
If they think the man is the real deal then we’ll believe them.
Personally, I’m holding out for a more inspiring signing.
We were really shown up by injuries this season, we need a reliable world class defender to slot in alongside Virgil van Dijk and for the two of them to keep fit.
