Liverpool beat Sheffield United tonight and in doing so they ended a run of four defeats in a row. The Reds were in fine fettle on the front foot but there were a few shaky moments out of possession. Despite the few flaws we’re made up with the win. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Sheffield United:

Adrian – 6
The Spaniard didn’t have a tremendous amount to do but there was still a breakdown in communication in the second half which could’ve been costly.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8.5
The Scouser was spot on with his passing and he was defensively sound throughout. He’s nearly back to his very best.
Ozan Kabak – 6
The Turkish defender was caught ball watching on a few occasions but he thankfully wasn’t punished.
Nat Phillips – 6
He kept a clean sheet and that’s good enough, he’s only a stand in after all.
Andy Robertson – 8
The Scotland captain was impressive and unlucky not to bag an assist, a poor finish from Mo Salah denying him.
Gini Wijnaldum – 7
The Dutchman was all over the place but in a good way, he is very consistent.
Curtis Jones – 9
Jones continues to impress, he’s going from strength to strength and he was easily our man of the match tonight.
Thiago – 7
Some smart passing but also a lot of fouls. My favourite Thiago trait is that face he pulls whenever he’s made a blatant foul. The shock.
Sadio Mane – 7.5
Sadio was determined as ever yet he’s still without a goal.
Roberto Firmino – 7.5
Some of the stuff this man does with a ball is magic. His vision and control are unrivalled. He just hates scoring. He didn’t even score tonight when we thought he had.
Mo Salah – 7
The Egyptian King should’ve had a goal towards the end but he arrived half a second too late.
