Jurgen Klopp could leave Liverpool for the Germany job before the end of his contract, according to reports. The Reds line up a certain replacement.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim an exclusive that there’s a ‘growing belief’ that Jurgen Klopp will take the Germany job.
The truly remarkable thing is how soon that could be. Joachim Low could lose his job with a disappointing Euros, prompting an offer for Klopp.
That could be later this year, then. At the very least, Liverpool can expect an approach after the World Cup in 2022.
It would see Klopp leave the club before the end of his contract, which expires in 2024. The pull of the Germany national job appears to be too strong.

And then comes the other side of this – who Liverpool want as a replacement. Any guesses?
They’re lining up Steven Gerrard, of course. He’s currently working wonders with Rangers and Liverpool are comfortable handing him the reigns.
What RTK has to say
Tabloid rumours? Perhaps? Maybe?
Unfortunately, it all sounds perfectly believable. The Germany job will appear within the next two years, it seems, and Klopp may well take it.
It’ll be his best chance to, perhaps even his only shot at it. Low has been in charge for 15 years, after all, and the next guy could be, too.
If Klopp wants to take it while he’s on top, it could be now or never. And in all honesty, we wouldn’t begrudge him it.
As for the other part, there’s no other choice. Gerrard would be on the shortlist even if he wasn’t doing well, let’s be honest.
The fact he’s dominating the Scottish Premiership and has Rangers actually threatening in Europe is remarkable. Gerrard appears to genuinely be a top manager and Liverpool will turn to him. That feels inevitable.
So while we’re taking this with a pinch of salt, a lot of it adds up.
