Liverpool have had some transformational managers in their time but few have earned the reputation Jürgen Klopp has built for himself. The German is a living legend at the club. His contract runs until 2024 and the boss deserves a break when that time comes. Marco Rose has been backed to take over Liverpool when Jürgen Klopp packs it in.
Who is Marco Rose?
44-years-old and 6ft 2in tall, Borussia Monchengladbach boss Marco Rose appears to be the next Jürgen Klopp.
This isn’t just down to his height and footballing philosophy but they have similar CVs.
Rose played under Jürgen Klopp at Mainz. The Bundesliga coach spent eight years at the club.
Since then he’s managed Lokomotive Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and now Borussia Monchengladbach.

At the end of the season Rose will take over at Borussia Dortmund, further mirroring Klopp’s career.
Marco Rose backed for Liverpool job
The coach’s career is on the up and up and one analyst believes it will keep heading in that direction.
Red Bull Soccer expert Karan Tejwani was singing the manager’s praises on the Blood Red Podcast, he backed Marco Rose to take the Liverpool job in future:
“They have been doing well and [Marco Rose] has made a good start to his career, but he is still young.
“I would not be surprised if he goes to Liverpool because of that similar line of thought.
“After Klopp leaves, he should definitely be the top target.”
What RTK has to say
Marco Rose taking the Liverpool job appears to make plenty of sense on paper.
He fits the mould having undergone a similar education to Jürgen Klopp.
Our first choice is still Pep Lijnders but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on the development of Rose’s career.
Should he enjoy some success at Dortmund then he may well be the ideal choice.
