Some Liverpool fans loved it as Harvey Elliott got another goal for Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday. The teenager is on fire.
Harvey Elliott got his fifth goal of the Championship season on Wednesday. The scored at home for Blackburn Rovers as they hosted 3rd-place Watford.
It was a wonderful goal, too. Elliott pounced on a loose ball after some great pressing from Rovers.
He took one touch to control the ball out of the air, knocking it yards from the byline on the right of the Watford box. Then, from a ridiculous angle, he lashes it into the roof of the net with his right foot.
Honestly, we didn’t know he had a goal like that in him and we highly recommend seeking it out. The confidence to try that with his ‘weaker’ foot is just outrageous for a 17-year-old.
But then, ‘outrageous for a 17-year-old’ sums Elliott up nicely. He’s putting in an incredible season down in the Championship.
Needless to say, Liverpool fans loved the goal and reacted in droves.
There’s just five but Twitter is just littered with Reds loving Elliott right now. The boy is a star.

What Elliott is doing this season is incredible. We should say, this is only his first goal since Christmas but it’s assists that catch the eye this year.
Elliott has nine, which leads the league. Again, he’s not even an adult.
His ‘under the hood’ stats look good, too. The teenager creates 1.8 chances per game – only five Championship players better that.

Tellingly, the youngest of those five is 23-year-old Harry Wilson. So not only is he another Liverpool loanee, but he’s someone with years of Championship and Premier League experience.
Elliott is keeping up with players like that, though, despite being just 17 and in his first full senior season.
He may not be at Anfield this season but Elliott is undoubtedly one of the brightest talents at Liverpool. He may be the outright brightest.
