Liverpool are ‘in the picture’ for Erling Haaland, according to reports, but Chelsea are confident of winning the race.
This comes from Eurosport. They believe that Liverpool are one of several clubs ‘in the picture’ for Erling Haaland, including Chelsea.
The Blues are notable as they’re very confident of winning this race. And what a race it’ll be.
The article mentions Real Madrid as ‘very keen’ and that Manchester United are involved, too. Then there’s Manchester City who see Haaland as the ideal transition from Sergio Aguero.
But it’s Chelsea who believe they’re ‘making progress’ on a deal. They feel they’re convincing Haaland that they’re the right club.

They apparently point to their ambitious summer spending as proof of that. The Blues think they’re the club on the up.
What RTK has to say
Absolutely no idea why Chelsea would point to their spending last summer to entice a player from the Bundesliga. They should pretend it didn’t happen.
Havertz doesn’t even make their first XI right now. He had a period of four consecutive appearances from the bench as recently as January.
As for Werner, he’s a goalscorer with two goals in his last 22 games. And one of them came against Morecambe. His four assists sort of make it look better?
But perhaps most daming of all is that for all the money they spent – and we haven’t mentioned Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell or Edouard Mendy – they’re two points behind West Ham.
If this is them ‘on the up’, then we fancy Liverpool’s chances in this race.
For one thing, Liverpool are just three points behind Chelsea despite their all-time bad form and injury crisis. We’re still confident of finishing above them.
So we’re not too worried about their confidence. If Liverpool want Haaland, they can surely beat Chelsea to his signature.
