Reported Manchester United stance hands Liverpool Jadon Sancho chance

Manchester United have a new stance on Jadon Sancho, according to reports. It’s one that might just open the door to a golden opportunity for Liverpool.

This comes from the Athletic. They claim that Manchester United have cooled their interest in Jadon Sancho.

They’re not entirely out of the equation but defenders and strikers are now their priority. They’ll want to find quality there before moving on Sancho.

And with the situation what it is, we see this as a golden opportunity for Liverpool.

Golden opportunity

The BBC say that Borussia Dortmund plan to sell Sancho this summer. They need the money after a year without fans – especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

That means Sancho’s price could drop to around £87m. Only we think there might just be a chance it drops lower.

United were, of course, Sancho’s primary suitor over the summer. With them backing off, it’s unclear who else wants the Englishman.

And if Dortmund must sell him, Liverpool would hold the power in any deal. They could drop that price down to something very manageable.

The Independent claimed back in October that Liverpool could try for Sancho this summer. Well, that task just got a little easier, it seems.

We think Sancho would be a sensational signing, too, and Liverpool should strongly consider this option.

Sancho is capable of playing on either wing, excels at pace, and can both assist and score goals. That makes him absolutely ideal for Liverpool’s system under Jurgen Klopp.

On top of that, he’s still just 20 – the club could turn him into a sensational player. He’s practically at the elite level already, with more to come.

That £87m price-tag feels low as it is. If it drops further, Liverpool have a golden opportunity on their hands. We really hope they consider taking it.
