Liverpool have injuries to six players ahead of the game against Everton tomorrow. The Reds certainly don’t have a full squad available.
Liverpool will lack several players when they face Everton tomorrow. But we’re quite used to that by now.
In fact one of those injuries happened way back on October 17th – the last time Liverpool faced Everton. It’s been that kind of season.
So here’s a run down of all six injuries Liverpool have to deal with ahead of the Merseyside derby.
Virgil van Dijk

That ‘tackle’ from Jordan Pickford changed Liverpool’s season. Virgil van Dijk hasn’t played since and likely won’t be available until the next campaign.
Once again, it’ll be a make-shift defence.
Last played – November 8th v Manchester City
We didn’t even get a month between Van Dijk’s injury and Joe Gomez’s surgery. Much like the Dutchman, we don’t expect to see Gomez again until next season.
Last played – December 9th v FC Midtjylland
What a costly decision. Diogo Jota didn’t need to play against Midtjylland and the injury he picked up has kept him out for months.
Unlike certain others, however, we should see Jota again this season. Hopefully, that’s before the end of the month. He could rejuvenate the attack once again.
It won’t come against Everton, though. Jurgen Klopp ruled that out on Friday.
Last played – January 28th v Tottenham Hotspur
With Van Dijk and Gomez out, Liverpool needed Matip this season. Unfortunately, they got just 10 Premier League games out of him before he required surgery, too.
And, once again, Liverpool won’t have him back this season.
Last played – February 7th v Manchester City
Fabinho won’t make this one after also missing the games against Leicester City and RB Leipzig. We imagine that means more of Jordan Henderson in defence.
We’re desperate to have Fabinho back, though. He’s played excellently at the back this season, so we’d quite like to see him alongside Ozan Kabak.
But it would also mean Henderson returns to midfield. Liverpool become a lot stronger when Fabinho returns.
Klopp confirmed that won’t be against Everton, though.
Last played – February 13th v Leicester City
James Milner might only be a squad player these days but with such a thin squad, that’s very valuable. Unfortunately, he picked up a knock early on against Leicester and remains injured.
Milner also gains importance as Henderson is in defence – it’ll be why Klopp started him against the Foxes.
He won’t have that option again tomorrow, though, as he again confirmed Milner’s absence.
