Jurgen Klopp says Alisson ‘will sleep really well’ after Liverpool beat RB Leipzig 2-0. The Brazilian has come in for criticism.
It’s been a difficult time for Alisson. The goalkeeper was at fault for back-to-back Liverpool defeats, effectively.
He repeatedly gave the ball away against Manchester City, leaving Liverpool with little chance in the end. Alisson then followed that up with a terrible mistake against Leicester City.
With the score at 1-1, he charged out of his area to try and deal with a long ball. It was a terribly misjudged decision, however, and Alisson collided with Ozan Kabak, leaving Jamie Vardy with an open goal.
This was all quite remarkable, given Alisson’s incredibly reliable reputation. That created some nerves ahead of Liverpool’s game with RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

The Reds came away with a 2-0, though, after Alisson made some key saves. It was exactly the performance he needed.
Understandably, Jurgen Klopp was thrilled for Alisson after the game.
“Definitely [a big moment],” he said, per Liverpoolfc.com. “But, to be honest, he had big moments in the Leicester game – he had brilliant saves.
“But of course it helps. A clean sheet, you can imagine Ali will sleep really well on the plane on the way home. How always, he helped us a lot.”
What RTK has to say
It wasn’t just Alisson who looked far more comfortable against Leipzig – the entire team did. And again, they needed that.
Alisson has been the biggest problem in the last two games, though, so we couldn’t be happier that he had a good night. Not only was he mistake-free but he got a clean-sheet in a difficult game.
Hopefully, that’s the end of Alisson’s difficult spell. It should be onwards and upwards from here.
