Gleison Bremer is the top transfer target for Liverpool this summer, according to reports. The Brazilian does fit the bill.
It sounds as though Liverpool still have defence on the mind when it comes to targets this summer.
The Mirror claims that Torino’s Gleison Bremer is now the no.1 Liverpool target for the next transfer window. They believe the club likes that Bremer could cost under £10m yet would arrive ready to go.
He’s someone we’ve seen linked with the Reds before, too.
Italian journalist Matteo Pedrosi claimed back in December that Liverpool had ‘strong interest’ in Bremer. It sounds as though that interest remains.

Bremer is a 23-year-old Brazilian defender who made the switch to Serie A back in 2018. He’s now closing in on two full seasons in Italy’s top flight.
What RTK has to say
We can repeat what we said last time Liverpool were linked with Bremer – this is a good idea. Bremer fits the profile the Reds like.
He’s the right age, too, and has some decent experience already. Not to mention that he’d come in without commanding a first-team role.
Liverpool may prefer that, given Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez will still hold the centre-back spots once they return.
But as Bremer pushes towards his prime, there’s room for rapid growth. Growth Liverpool usually bring out of players at that age.
Most of the first-team joined around 24 or 25 before Liverpool kicked them up a gear. They could do the same with the Brazilian.
There is one more thing to consider, though – what does this mean for Ozan Kabak?
He’s only on loan but Liverpool have an option to buy for £18m. But if they’re looking at a centre-back for the summer, are they really going to take that option for Kabak?
It doesn’t seem likely. From the sounds of it, then, Kabak may have some work to do before convincing Liverpool to move in his direction permanently.
