Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the stunning goal from Pedro Neto during Wolves’ 2-1 victory at Southampton.
Neto scored a superb winning-goal for the visitors at St Mary’s to leapfrog Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team in the league standings.
The Portuguese ace left Jannik Vestergaard for dead with an audacious example of trickery, before Neto calmly slotted past Alex McCarthy as Wolves extended their unbeaten league run to three matches.
It took the former Lazio starlet’s total to five Premier League goals this season. He has four assists in 24 league appearences, too.
In total, Neto created three chances, completed two dribbles and won two fouls for his team. The 20-year-old’s overall performance earned him a MOTM rating on WhoScored.
Unsurprisingly, Neto caught the attention of the Liverpool fan base, who have seen their own team’s attacking qualities dry up as of late.
In the midst of three consecutive defeats, the Reds have just two goals against the likes of Brighton, Manchester City and Leicester – both of which were scored by Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool entered the window in January but resisted the urge to add another attacking talisman. Could Neto, then, become a viable option this summer?
Well, a number of Kopites certainly thought so in the aftermath of Nuno Espirito Santo’s impressive victory. Liverpool have previously profited from a Portuguese forward from Molineux in the past, after all.
Let’s see what the Anfield faithful had to say on Neto’s latest stunning showcase of talent…
